How to move around the 3D map

Touch: put two fingers on the map and slide them sideways or twist them to orbit around the selected place. At the same time, move both fingers vertically to tilt and spread to move closer (or pinch together to move farther away). Drag with one finger to pan freely; double-tap deliberately to focus a place.

Mouse or trackpad: drag normally to pan; Ctrl+drag or middle-drag to orbit and tilt; a two-finger sideways trackpad swipe orbits, while wheel/vertical scroll and pinch zoom. Browsers that expose trackpad rotation use it directly; Ctrl+drag is the continuous fallback. Double-click focuses a place or terrain. On the focused map, arrow keys orbit/tilt, +/− zoom, F focuses the selected place, A the area, N north and O overview.

The visible buttons provide the same recovery actions without requiring a gesture.
